The Loo of the Year Awards continue to attract enormous interest from all quarters – providers, users and the media.
There’s nothing quite like an Award winning lavatory to stimulate local and often national media attention!
There are a range of National Awards, as well as accompanying Attendant of the Year Awards, for the cleaning staff who look after each facility – the unsung heroes and heroines.
Are You Proud of Your Toilets?
Nominations and entries are now being received for the 2008 Loo of the Year Awards – the annual competition to find the best places ‘to go’ in Britain, Ireland and The Channel Islands.
The competition, now in its 21st year, is promoted by The British Toilet Association and is run this year in association with Headline Sponsor Albany Washroom Services. Other Sponsors so far identified are Armitage Shanks, the leading bathroom equipment manufacturer, The British Cleaning Council, the ‘voice’ of the cleaning industry and Help the Aged who are keen to encourage more age friendly toilets. The Awards are also supported by the national tourism bodies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Additional Sponsors are still required to cater for the increasing number of entries each year.
Entries Invited for the 2008 Loo of the Year Awards
Entries are now being received for the 2008 Loo of the Year Awards – our twenty first year.
Following a significant increase in the number of entries received in 2007, further developments have been introduced for 2008.
Trafford Centre Tops for Toilets
The Trafford Shopping Centre, Manchester has won the much coveted UK Winner’s Trophy in the 20th Anniversary Loo of the Year Awards competition to find the best ‘away from home’ toilets in the UK.
“Shopping Centres are setting increasingly high standards of toilet provision” – quotes Awards Director, Richard Chisnell. “The Trafford Centre has been winning top grade Loo of the Year Awards for many years and continues to improve facilities with dedicated family friendly toilets and older child/adult changing for those with special needs. Our 21st century society demands and expects a fully inclusive toileting experience and The Trafford Centre is to be congratulated for its forward thinking on this vitally important service”.
