Proud to Support the ELY Memorial Golf Day

12 July 2026 21:37

Yesterday, Loo of the Year Awards and A Plush Flush were proud to sponsor holes at the annual ELY Memorial Golf Day held at Burghill Valley Golf Club.

With an incredible 36 teams taking to the course, the event brought together businesses, friends and supporters from across Herefordshire, all united in raising vital funds for an exceptional local charity.

The ELY Memorial Fund was established in memory of Emma Louise Young, who tragically lost her life in a road traffic collision at just 23 years of age. Following their own devastating loss, Emma's family founded the charity in 2011 with a determination to help other families facing similar heartbreak.

Today, the charity provides immediate financial assistance through its unique 'Hugs Pack', helping bereaved families with funeral costs and offering guidance and support during one of the most difficult times imaginable. Alongside this compassionate support, the charity is passionate about preventing future tragedies by delivering road safety education and young driver programmes across Herefordshire, equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to become safer drivers.

As businesses rooted in Herefordshire, supporting organisations that make a genuine difference within our local community is something we care deeply about. We were honoured to play a small part in this fantastic fundraising event, alongside so many other businesses that generously sponsored holes, donated raffle prizes and supported the day.

A huge congratulations must go to everyone involved in organising such a successful event. The dedication of the volunteers, sponsors and participants is a wonderful example of the strength and generosity of the Herefordshire community.

To everyone who took part—thank you. We hope the day has raised a fantastic amount to help the ELY Memorial Fund continue supporting families when they need it most, while also helping to create safer roads for future generations.
