Loo of the Year Awards Enjoys a Successful Day at the Glasgow Expo at Hampden Park

08 June 2026 12:30

The Loo of the Year Awards team was delighted to attend the Glasgow Expo, organised by Hashtag Events, which took place last Thursday at the iconic Hampden Park Stadium.

The event brought together businesses, organisations, and professionals from across Scotland and beyond, creating a vibrant environment for networking, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas. As one of the UK's leading business exhibition organisers, Hashtag Events once again delivered a well-attended and engaging event, providing exhibitors and visitors with valuable opportunities to connect.

For the Loo of the Year Awards, the Expo proved to be an excellent platform to raise awareness of the importance of high-quality toilet and washroom facilities. Throughout the day, we had the pleasure of speaking with a wide range of business owners, facilities managers, venue operators, tourism organisations, and service providers, many of whom were keen to learn more about toilet standards and the positive impact that excellent washroom provision can have on customer experience.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the event was the genuine interest shown by visitors in the role that washrooms play within their organisations. From discussions about accessibility and inclusivity to cleanliness, maintenance, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, it was encouraging to see so many people recognise that toilets are an important part of the overall visitor experience.

The conversations highlighted a growing understanding that well-maintained, accessible, and welcoming washroom facilities are no longer simply an operational necessity—they are an essential component of quality service delivery. It was exciting to share how the Loo of the Year Awards supports organisations in benchmarking their facilities, recognising excellence, and driving continuous improvement across the sector.

The team came away from the event inspired by the enthusiasm and engagement shown by attendees. We were particularly pleased to establish a number of new contacts and begin several promising conversations that we hope will develop into long-term relationships and future participation in the Loo of the Year Awards programme.

We would like to thank Hashtag Events for organising such a successful exhibition and everyone who took the time to visit our stand and speak with us. We look forward to continuing these conversations and working together to promote higher toilet and washroom standards across the UK.

After all, great customer experiences often start—and end—in the washroom.
