BBC Radio Stoke Interview

26 February 2026 19:45
Another fantastic opportunity to keep the conversation flowing about loos… and this time it was with BBC Radio Stoke 🎙️
Four weeks after the excitement of the Loo of the Year Awards on 14th January, I had the pleasure of chatting with Stuart George about all things washrooms, including the ever-popular Quirky Loo Award!
We talked about:
✨ What makes a loo “quirky” (and why it matters!)
✨ The wider impact of the Awards
✨ The inspection process and grading standards
✨ How the Awards promote education, awareness and continual improvement in toilet facilities across the UK
It is always brilliant to share the positive stories that come out of the Awards. Behind every trophy is a team that cares about cleanliness, accessibility and user experience and that deserves recognition.
The Quirky Loo Award certainly captures attention, but it also opens the door to a bigger conversation about standards, innovation and the importance of good washroom provision for everyone.
I am incredibly proud that even weeks after the event, we are still generating interest and raising awareness. The conversation about toilets really does matter and long may it continue! 🚻
