How does a Cube represent your Team?

✨ How a Cube Inspired a Conversation About Teamwork ✨

Before our recent Team Day, I was looking at the beautiful Rubik’s Cube that Tork, our brilliant Headline Sponsor, had made to help promote the Loo of the Year Awards (LOTYA).
As I held it in my hand, I started thinking about what this simple yet clever object could represent about our team here at LOTYA.
I saw more than just a puzzle, I saw a powerful symbol of who we are and how we work together.
I shared these thoughts with the team on the day, and I would love to share them here too, because every person in our team plays such an important role in making LOTYA what it is.

🔷 The cube holds meaning in many ways:
1. Stability and Balance
With equal sides and angles, a cube reminds us of fairness and equality.
It represents the idea that when everyone contributes equally, we create something stable and reliable.
2. Structure and Foundation
A cube is solid and dependable, just like a well-formed team.
When each person plays their part, we become the strong foundation for LOTYA’s success.
3. Different Perspectives
Each of the cube’s six faces is unique, just like our team members.
Together, these different faces form a complete shape, showing how varied experiences and skills create a stronger, more rounded whole.
4. Collaboration and Unity
Every corner (or vertex) of the cube connects three edges, just as collaboration connects people and ideas.
We are each connected, and we all rely on each other to keep the shape and the mission intact.
5. Depth and Dimension
Unlike a flat square, a cube has depth. It reminds us that there is more than meets the eye, hidden talents, deeper thinking, and layers of insight that make our team so special.
6. Problem-Solving
Of course, it is also a puzzle. It represents the challenges we face and the way we work through them thoughtfully, creatively, and together.
This little cube, and the big ideas it represents, reminded me just how proud I am of the LOTYA team.
