Holiday Parks enter Loo of the Year Awards

Many leading caravan and camping sites enter Loo of the Year Awards (LOYA) each year as well as some of the UK's leading retail, hospitality, leisure and entertainment companies. They all recognise the annual Loo of the Year Awards as a proven, cost effective and independent annual assessment of the standard of their washroom provision management and receive recognition through our annual grading scheme. “Good washrooms are proven to be an attraction and good for business”.

2018 Holiday Parks national winners included Hillcroft Park Penrith, Ord House Berwick on Tweed and the Trotting Mare caravan park Wrexham. All gained significant publicity as a result.

All entries receive a star grading; Silver Gold Platinum or Diamond, following an unannounced visit by an authorised Loo of the Year Awards Inspector. Each entry is fully assessed against over 100 judging criteria, covering both male and female facilities, as well as any baby changing, accessible or Changing Places facilities provided. The criteria are based on British Standards and the Equality Act where appropriate and also include hygiene equipment, cleanliness, fixtures & fittings, décor & maintenance and value-added extras.

Provision of appropriate facilities for families with babies and young children is particularly important on family sites. Access to the toilet, condition and safety of changing units, provision of nappy disposal facilities are essential elements and extras such as baby baths, nappy dispensing etc are all add value and increase the level of Award achieved.

Award winning holiday park entrant’s washrooms have the ‘Wow factor’ as they provide attractive loos that make away from home toilet use a pleasure – not a concern.  excellent ventilation, dry floors, constant availability of toilet tissue and hand wash soap, and a safe and hygienic environment separate winning loos from those that will deter visitors from booking again.

There are National Awards for England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and UK Trophies awarded to the providers of the very best toilets. Awards and Trophies will be presented at the prestigious daytime Awards Event on Friday 6th December.
