How attractive are shopping centre washrooms?

07 March 2019 14:54

Many readers of this website will be aware, from attending the prestigious 2018 Awards Event or reading the 2018 Loo of the Year Awards Results Brochure, that there were National and UK/Republic of Ireland winners from all market sectors. There were entries from one hundred and sixty-two leading shopping centres in England Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland including first time and single-entry entrants and multi entry previous UK Overall Trophy winners. There were direct entries from shopping centres, management agents and  entries from their cleaning or FM providers.

Experienced loo of the Year Awards Inspectors inspect and independently assess how clean and well-maintained entrant’s washrooms are and grade them. This provides a benchmark for entrant’s achievements against their competitors. A Washroom Cleaner of the Year Award assessment is included which provides cleaning staff with recognition for a job well done. Loo of the Year Awards is recognised as ‘the washroom standard’ for the UK.

Mike Bone, the Awards Managing Director, said “Companies and institutions throughout the UK use their entries in the annual Loo of the Year Awards as a proven, cost effective and independent annual assessment of the standard of their washroom provision management and receive proper recognition through our annual grading scheme”.

For 2019 Loo of the Year Awards have introduced a new Diamond Award which will join the existing Silver, Gold and Platinum Loo of the Year Awards grades as the highest and most prestigious award available to washroom providers, their cleaners and maintainers. This award will supplement the Platinum award and focus on the highest standards of cleaning, special facilities for babies, children and those who need Changing Places or Space to Change toilet facilities - the provision of clean and well-maintained washroom facilities to meet all user’s needs.

Entries are now being received for the 2019 Loo of the Year Awards – the annual competition to find the best places ‘to go’ in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. There are a range of National and Overall awards and trophies for the very best entries which will be presented at the prestigious Awards Presentation Event to be held on Friday 6th December in Solihull.
