CLEANER PRESENTED WITH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Maureen Boyle, a cleaner based at the South Pier Bangor public toilet, was presented with the Loo of the Year Awards (LOYA) 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious annual LOYA Event on Friday 8th December. She has been employed by Ards and North Down Borough Council since 1990 and provided an excellent service at the toilets South Pier toilets since they opened on 4th April 1994.
Maureen is a wonderful ambassador for the Council and the town of Bangor. She is enthusiastic about the toilets, which are cleaned and maintained to a high standard. Although 24 years old, the toilets provide excellent and inclusive facilities for the residents and visitors to Bangor – which reflects very well on Maureen and other staff involved. She has decorated the toilet at her own expense for a number of years and receives numerous compliments on a regular basis. A previous winner of the National Attendant of the year Award for Ireland she goes that extra mile to make sure the facility is kept to a very high standard and is an unseen ambassador for her employer and town.
Maureen was also awarded the new Washroom Cleaner of the Year Award Individual Cleaner National award for Ireland and the overall UK Individual Cleaner Trophy.
