Loo of the Year Awards at European Industry Connect 2026

Loo of the Year Awards was delighted to be represented at the European Cleaning & Facility Services Industry Connect 2026 (ECFI Connect), held at the Hotel Palma Bellver in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

The event brought together members, Circle participants and stakeholders from across Europe’s cleaning and facility services sector for a networking lunch, insightful panel discussion and engaging interactive session.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet industry colleagues, exchange experiences and hear different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing our sector.

Sharing knowledge and raising standards

At Loo of the Year Awards, we believe that collaboration and sharing best practice are essential to driving improvements across the industry.

Established in 1987, our independent washroom standards scheme recognises and encourages excellence in away-from-home washrooms through unannounced inspections against a comprehensive set of criteria.

Washrooms are an essential part of the experience of any workplace, hospitality venue, leisure facility or public building. Beyond cleanliness and presentation, accessibility, dignity, safety and the needs of different users must all be considered.

Our philosophy is simple: you cannot manage what you do not measure. By recognising good practice and encouraging continuous improvement, we aim to help establishments raise standards and create better experiences for everyone.

Events such as ECFI Connect provide a valuable opportunity to share this experience while learning from professionals working across different European markets. There is so much we can learn from one another, and these conversations help build stronger connections across our industry.

Looking ahead

A huge thank you to everyone who organised ECFI Connect 2026 and made us feel so welcome in Palma. It was a pleasure to be part of such a positive gathering, meet so many people from across the sector and begin conversations that we look forward to continuing.
