After many, many, MANY attempts at becoming part of the Small Business Sunday community, I honestly never expected to receive this message in my inbox last night…
Loo of The Year Awards Ltd has been selected for SBS! 🎉
To say I was shocked, excited and absolutely delighted would be an understatement!
I am incredibly honoured to now be part of the Small Business Sunday community and to have the opportunity to share our rather unusual business with such an amazing network of small businesses.
For those who do not know us, Charles and I run the Loo of the Year Awards, recognising and celebrating outstanding away-from-home washrooms across the UK and Ireland. But what we do is about so much more than toilets. It is about education, awareness, accessibility, inclusion, dignity and recognising those who are making a difference.
A huge thank you to Theo Paphitis and the fantastic Small Business Sunday team for this opportunity and for championing small businesses like ours. It really does mean a lot.
And congratulations to all the other businesses selected alongside us this Sunday, what a fantastic group to be joining!
After all those attempts, I think it is safe to say…
Never give up! Keep showing up, keep believing in what you do and sometimes, your inbox can bring a very nice surprise!
We may talk about toilets, but really, we are talking about people.
