British Cleaning Council logoBCC has grown from five founder member bodies, at its set-up in 1982, to a current membership of 19 trade associations, research and educational institutions representing contract cleaners to environmental campaigners and toilet campaigners to cleaning trainers.

We provide a forum for member bodies to liaise and discuss industry-wide improvements. As co-owners of the Cleaning Show we use any funding we receive to plough directly back into the industry into improvement schemes.

We believe we fully encompass the UK cleaning industry and are proud to represent it in all its glory. Cleaning is now a professional industry with excellent opportunities.

It is a vital service cross-sectioning all other industrial sectors. Without adequate cleaning provision many other services would grind to a halt. For further information see:

Help the Aged logoMany of us find we need to use the toilet more often and with greater urgency as we get older. This means that when we leave home we depend on the availability and accessibility of public toilets, whether provided by local authorities or local businesses and companies. However, a recent Help the Aged (HtA) report, Nowhere to go, summarises older people’s views on public toilet provision in their local area and found that the lack of clean, accessible public toilets is a major concern for many older people. 79 per cent of respondents find that safety concerns make public toilets unappealing.

That is why Help the Aged is keen to support the Loo of the Year Awards this year. We are very pleased that all public toilets in the scheme will now be judged against ‘age friendly’ criteria and we are proud to support a special Award for the most age-friendly loo.

Additional information about HtA research on incontinence and public toilets is available on http://policy.helptheaged.org.uk/healthyageing

Hydro Nova Europe logoHydro Nova Europe is the world's largest independent manufacturer of chemical dispensing systems used in the industrial and commercial cleaning and hygiene industry.

Our European operation is based in the UK, in Bracknell in Berkshire, where we design and manufacture a complete range of both water and electrically powered dispensers.

The ICS III, a self-contained mobile cleaning system for automated toilet cleaning, is our newest product. Launched at the recent Interclean trade show in Amsterdam ICS III is designed specifically to improve the daily cleaning and sanitation of public toilet facilities. A recent study in the USA indicated that touchless cleaning systems such as the ICS III produce savings in chemical usage of up to 40%, labour productivity gains of up to 65% and a higher standard of cleanliness and hygiene when used on a daily basis.
